Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College & Lion´s Seva Kendra Hospital, Kishanganj was sponsored and established by a Trust of Sikh religious minority community under article 30(1) of the Constitution of India, with a view of giving efficient medical service to the people of the entire North-East Region-an underdeveloped, educationally, socially and economically backward area. The Sikh minority Community thus decided to serve this area through a Medical College and a well equipped Hospital in the State of Bihar.
Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College & Lions Seva Kendra Hospital (MGMMC) got the approval to start MBBS course from 1990-1991 academic year. After recommendation by the Medical Council of India (MCI), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare approved MBBS program for 100 seats, MGMMC will always strive to scale new parameters in the field of health education and research. The beginning has been made over 25 acre of land that houses the Medical College building and a 620 beded hospital which offers the best medical care and attention to each and every category of patients and provides the world class health care services by experienced doctors and health
professionals.

Hospital Facilities
Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College, Kishanganj, (Bihar) has a fully functional 610-bed hospital complete with all facilities and advanced technology. Students are provided with adequate opportunities to interact with patients and gain direct clinical experience. The hospital is located in an imposing seven-storey complex that houses the various departments and their respective wards. Casualty and Emergency services are available 24 x 7. Well-trained Casualty Medical Officers who are assisted by a number of senior and junior doctors and other ancillary staff manage this section. There are nearly a dozen Operation Theatres accessible to this section.

The hospital is having one of the best Radiology centre in north Bihar, India. Having state-of-the-art MRI machine (HITACHI), Spiral CT Scanner, High-Resolution Colour Doppler, the latest Ultrasound machine and latest X-ray machines (800mA, 500mA, 300mA, 100mA, II TV ,dental x-ray, mobile x-ray etc.).

Hospital Lab Services
HLS is highly advanced well equipped 24×7, 365 Laboratory at Ground Floor, Hospital Building, HLS is receiving all samples of IPD, OPD and Emergency Patients to analyze Blood Chemistry, Endocrinology, Heamatology, Cytology, Bacteriology, Serology, Mycology, Parasitology, Virology, and Immunology for routine as well as special Test, Special tests performed by HLS are LH, FSH, Prolactin, PSA, α-Fetoprotein, β-HCG, CPK-MB, Glycosylated Hemoglobin, LDL-Direct, Ferritin, Iron, TIBC, Rh Antibody Titer, Coomb’s Test, TB IGM, IGG, IGA, Card ELISA Test of Malaria and Dengue, TORCH Test, Full Coagulation Profile, Bone Marrow Examination, Our labs are well equipped with high quality, Multithreaded Microscopes with facilities of digital imaging, Sysmex KX-21, XL-300, Urine analyzer, ELISA reader and Washer,
Chem-5 plus V2, Vermatic-20, Eschweiler Compact ISE. To provide quality services HLS is running Internal and External Quality Control Programmes for their analyzer has trained and skilled technical staff reporting system through software and error free blood investigation.
We have 06 bedded CCU with all advanced facilities for continuous cardiac monitoring. Our staffs are well trained to deal with all Cardiac emergencies.
Emergency / Casualty
There are twenty beds in the Triage of the causality department where patients are classified as per the priority treatment. There are 25 bedded emergency wards with two exclusive beds for critical patients where facilities of ventilator, defibrillator, crash card with all emergency drugs are available. There is central oxygen supply and central suction facilities in the ward. There are 5 monitor, three pulse oxymeter, 5 infusion pumps, and two glucometer. Round the clock there are 4 Casualty Medical Officer assisted by the specialist, with 4-5 trained nurses and 3-4 ward boys & Ayas in each shift. There is ABG machine for blood gas analysis exclusively for emergency department.
PICU
We have 6 Beded Paediatric ICU. PICU is well equipped with 4 monitors D.Febrilator, ventilator to support the sick babies. One PICU is centralized 02 and suction system. Ward is well equipped is with emergency drugs. We have 4 infusion pump and round the clock we have 2 trained nurses and one SR Doctors round the clock to look after the patients and 2 Ward Boy in each shift.
NICU
There is a NICU in the hospital which has 25 beds and four cradles. The NICU is divided into two sides, one is for outside babies and other is for inside hospital born babies. There are 10 monitor and 10 infusion pumps for critical management of the Neonates. There are four ventilators and one Bubble CPAP. There is centralized oxygen supply and suction system. The Bilirubeino meter is available for checking the bilirubin of the new born. Trained nurses, technicians, Junior- Residents and Senior Residents are case available for the of the patient round the clock.
Burn Unit
In Burn Unit we have 6 beds and all beds are with centrally 02 and suction apparatus. We have 3 monitor and three infusion pump for sick patients. All beds are with Burn cradle “we have inside the ward Bathroom for patients to give them tub bath inside only to control the infection. Each shift we have 2 trained Nurses one SR. Doctors & one Ward Boy and one Aya to take care of patients.
Blood Bank & Component Unit
Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College & L. S. K. Hospital has a fully equipped Blood Bank . It has been updated with modern and technical facilities. Our Blood Bank is one of the few blood banks in North Bihar, India which is providing blood components to its patients. We are successful in providing blood & its components to needy & desperate people especially to the poor segment of the society. We also provide some of the blood component which is surplus like FFP, without asking for blood replacement. There has never been shortage of blood in view of our active efforts in organizing various blood donation camps, Symposium & mass contract.
